Hudson Valley Center for Digestive Health, LLC, a joint venture between Hudson Valley Hospital Center, five local GI physicians and Physicians Endoscopy, LLC, opened for operations in July 2012. The center, located in Cortlandt Manor, Northern Westchester County, New York is a state-of-the-art two-room center conveniently located directly within the hospital’s newly constructed medical office building.
To highlight the center’s opening, Congresswoman Nan Hayworth (NY-19th District) toured the new facility July 3rd while meeting with the physicians, hospital and center staff, and PE representatives.
Rep. Hayworth is a dedicated member of New York’s medical community previously serving as an instructor and Assistant Clinical Professor at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in NY. During her career as a physician, she was recognized for her excellence in medicine and named to several top-doctors lists.
Congresswoman Hayworth is very active in her district and is a member of several caucuses and task forces that help her better serve the people of Hudson Valley, including the GOP Doctors Caucus who utilize their medical expertise to develop patient-centered health care reforms focused on quality, access, affordability, portability and choice.
Developing a new GI endoscopy center to serve their patients and the community was a goal the two practices embarked on for the past 18 months. As the regulatory environment in the office setting had become increasingly difficult to maintain, the physicians realized consolidating their office-based endoscopy rooms into a regulated and licensed surgery center would provide them a long term, viable business while offering their patients the highest level of quality care and safety.
“It was wonderful that Congresswoman Hayworth took time from her busy schedule to visit our center. It sends a clear message to the people that ASCs are an important part of prevention and an integral part of the Hudson Valley community,” stated Eric Teitel, MD, Co-Medical Director of Hudson Valley Center for Digestive Health.
“There is a tremendous need in our community for treatment of all types of digestive disease ailments. We are really pleased that this wide reaching and comprehensive digestive health center will provide patients with a convenient and high quality outpatient experience in an easily accessible ambulatory surgery setting,” stated Mark Webster, VP Finance of Hudson Valley Hospital Center.
“We are extremely excited about our partnership with this highly talented coalition of five premier GI physicians. And it has been such a pleasure to work with Hudson Valley Hospital Center who was instrumental in providing a beautiful location on the hospital’s campus,” stated Carol Stopa, VP Business Development.
Hudson Valley Center for Digestive Health represents PE’s 22nd partnered center, their sixth affiliated center in the state, and their fourth hospital joint venture in New York.
